Vegetable Oil Ink

What is Vegetable Oil Ink?

Vegetable oil ink is an environmentally friendly alternative to petroleum based printing inks. Soy ink was widely used until 2011, when it was discovered that recycled vegetable oil inks are a more sustainable raw material than 100% soy oil based inks. Vegetable oil ink is derived from soy oil, palm tree oil, linseed oil, coconut oil and other recyclable oils, and is now considered the industry standard in printing inks.

More information about Vegetable Oil Ink can be found on The Japan Printing Ink Makers Association website (Japanese only).
